McLaren duo admit to car concerns

Lewis Hamilton says his McLaren car's main issue is a lack of downforce, although the Briton is hopeful the team will be able to sort some of its problems before the start of the season. McLaren's new challenger has not been among the strongest during winter testing so far, with the team also hindered by problems that have not allowed its drivers to run as much as hoped. Hamilton said the MP4-26 was not as bad as the team's 2009 machine, with which he struggled at the start of the season, but admitted it is currently lacking performance

Muller leads GP3 test day two

Jenzer's Nico Muller was quickest on the second and final day of GP3 testing at Paul Ricard, as the weather improved following Thursday's washout and allowed the teams to get a full day of dry running. Muller set his benchmark 1m20.896s lap during the morning session, which saw second-year drivers to the fore as Mucke's Nigel Melker and Michael Christensen, and Arden's Simon Trummer completed the top four, ahead of Status driver Antonio Felix da Costa, who made a handful of GP3 starts in 2010. The best newcomer was Arden's teenage New Zealander Mitch Evans in sixth place.

Hamilton and Stewart to swap cars

Former Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and double NASCAR champion Tony Stewart will swap cars for a promotional event later this year. Their McLaren and Stewart Haas teams confirmed to AUTOSPORT that an event was planned that would see Hamilton take the wheel of Stewart's Chevrolet Impala, while Stewart - who was an IndyCar racer for two years before switching to NASCAR in 1998 - will try an F1 car for the first time with McLaren
