Aston AMR-One begins testing

Aston Martin has begun testing its AMR-One LMP1 open-top prototype, which is set to make its competition debut at Paul Ricard next month. The car was given a shakedown run at Prodrive's own Warwick facility last weekend before completing around 25 laps at Snetterton during the week. Darren Turner, who shared driving duties with his team-mate and co-driver Stefan Mucke, told AUTOSPORT that he had been encouraged by the car's early performance

Huff takes pole in new-look qualifying

Chevrolet's Rob Huff has claimed pole position for tomorrow's opening race of the World Touring Car Championship at Curitiba. The Briton denied RML team-mate Yvan Muller a hat-trick of pole positions at the Brazilian venue by going fastest in the second, decisive, 10 minute qualifying session. Rain affected the closing stages, preventing Huff's competitors from improving on his time of 1m21.758s

Halfway Home

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca marks the halfway point of the IZOD IndyCar Series? six-race road course schedule. As the challenging circuit has been off the series? schedule for a few seasons now, this week’s return to the Monterey Peninsula was as good an opportunity as the IZOD IndyCar Series sim racers would have to knock Ryan Field off his pedestal and make some significant gains in points. Only problem was, Field wasn?t having it. His 159 points were best in class, and he now holds a 97-point lead over Jeremy Bouteloup for the Division One and overall titles. Bouteloup managed fourth on the weekend behind Julien Chopin and Dezza Murray, but still lost an additional 20 points to the leader. Markus Ott topped Division Two drivers with 134 points and [...]
