Dixon sure fuel glitch cost him pole

Scott Dixon is sure that the Ganassi team's fuel error cost him pole position for the Indianapolis 500, but said he would not hold it against his crew any more than they would resent a driver making a mistake. Both Ganassi cars ran low on fuel at the end of their runs in the 'Fast Nine' pole shoot-out, with Dixon slowing from a pace that looked set to give him pole but still getting second, while Dario Franchitti fell right back to ninth on the grid as he ran dry on his last lap. "Dario obviously missed on fuel a little more than what we did," said Dixon

2012 Scion FR-S / Toyota FT-86 / Subaru RWD Sports Car Spy Photos ? Future Cars

The Scion/Subaru/Toyota rear-wheel-drive coupe gets caught testing in a camouflaged production-ready body. Toyota is such a tease. Way back in the fall of 2009, it showed a swoopy yet angry-looking rear-drive, two-door sports-car concept called the FT-86. Although we weren?t big on its looks, we were excited by the thought of a north/south powertrain once [...]

Pastor Maldonado believes his first Q3 appearance marks a genuine step forward in form for Williams, though he admits that the team still has a lot of work to do to get to where it wants to be. De Silvestro cleared for practice

Simona de Silvestro has been cleared to drive in the initial practice session at Indianapolis this morning in order to assess whether her injuries have healed enough to allow her to participate in qualifying today. The HVM driver sustained second-degree burns on the back of her right hand and superficial burns on her left hand and fingertips on Thursday when a suspension breakage sent her car into the wall and then into an aerial accident that ended with the Dallara-Honda upside down and on fire

Vettel ?not disappointed? pole run ended

Sebastian Vettel said he felt no great disappointment at seeing his run of pole positions come to an end in Spain, and played down the impact of his KERS issues on the result. The world champion had started from the top spot at every race so far this year prior to Catalunya, and had also taken pole for the 2010 finale in Abu Dhabi. But in Spain today his team-mate Mark Webber denied him first place with a lap 0.2 seconds faster.
