Power: Car wasn?t quick enough

IndyCar championship leader Will Power admitted that his Penske team just did not have the speed to fight for pole in yesterday's qualifying session. The Australian will start fifth, still far better than his team-mates Helio Castroneves - who was only 16th - and Ryan Briscoe, who was not quick enough to make it into the top 24 after crashing in practice

Downpour interrupts Bump Day

Bump Day qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 has been paused as a heavy rainstorm swept across the track. Dreyer & Reinbold's Ana Beatriz and Ganassi's Graham Rahal were the only drivers who managed to get a run in before the rain arrived. The weather passed the track relatively swiftly and with sunshine now attempting to break through, the chances of qualifying being able to resume later today currently look good.
