Conway, Hunter-Reay miss the cut

Mike Conway and Ryan Hunter-Reay both failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 as Danica Patrick, Alex Lloyd and Marco Andretti snuck in at the end of a dramatic Bump Day. Patrick had looked set to miss out earlier in the day as rain arrived before she can even make a qualifying attempt. But the weather relented and when the track reopened for a final hour, Patrick swiftly got herself onto the grid with a run good enough for 26th place.

Mitchell McLeod ? TV star

You can call Mitchell McLeod a lot of things:  two-time Golden Power kart series champion; nitro-buggy racer; finalist in the Intel GP Masters online racing tournament; champion of the 2011 Season One iRacing.com V8 Supercar Series. Now you can add ?television star? to the list.  Maybe that?s overdoing it just a tad, but the 20 year old from Tongala, Victoria, Australia could have a nice career as a television spokesperson for iRacing if his recent appearance on the ABC2 network?s popular gaming show Good Game is any indication. McLeod recently appeared on Episode 16 of Good Game extolling the virtues of iRacing.  ?It?s all about racing hard, racing clean,? he says.  “I think sim racing is going to go forward and become its own sport.” Check out Mitchell McLeod?s interview [...]

2012 Volkswagen Passat ? First Drive Review

McVolkswagen: VW supersizes its Passat for the byways and driveways of America. Let?s get one thing straight: Tennessee is not Germany. If you haven?t previously stopped to consider this remarkable fact, we suggest you take a moment to ponder it. Nashville isn?t Stuttgart, Chattanooga isn?t Wolfsburg, and that eight-foot-long snake encased in Lucite and mounted [...]

Kimi Raikkonen is set to move a step up in his NASCAR transition next week by making his Nationwide Series debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 31-year-old ranked 15th on his first NASCAR Camping World Truck series outing, finishing on the lead lap while surviving a race that saw plenty of incidents involving many of the series' top drivers. Detroit Media Mogul: Beware Transport Subsidies (Except for Cars)

From Scott Walker to the New York Post, opponents of transit and bicycling have displayed a masterful ability to selectively apply their disdain for “government interference.” Keith Crain of Crain's Communications is just fine with this kind of government spending. Bogie hoping for Scotland outing

David Bogie is hoping to add the Rally of Scotland to his already-hectic 2011 programme, with the British and Scottish Rally Championship leader hoping to tackle the event in a Super 2000 car. Bogie, who finished fourth on Britain's Intercontinental Rally Challenge round in his own Group N Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, says his only hope of improving on that result will come if he can fund a Super 2000 outing
